About the author:

Bob believes firmly that the writer is the alchemist and that if he or she has done the job well, the writer does not even exist. To this end, he has written full-time for the past 34 years. Among his other adult novels are the following: The Alice Factor; The Hiding Place; The Third Story; The Watcher; and The Toy Shop.

Among his novels of mystery and adventure for young people are: the Rolly series: Danger on the River; Spies for Dinner; and Murder in the Market.

Also: Theft of Gold; and The Odd-Lot Boys and the Tree-Fort War.

Among his books in geology are: The Great Canadian Outback; Geology and the New Global Tectonics; Earth Science; Rocks, Minerals and Fossils; and co-authored with Dr. J.D. Mollard P.Eng, the dean of airphoto studies, Airphoto Interpretation and the Canadian Landscape.

Though his St-Cyr/Kohler series is now being translated into other languages, Bob doesn't dwell on past successes or try to make a big thing of them. Rather, he concentrates on the book he's writing and the ones he is going to write. As advice to those who wish to engage in such a pursuit, he has this: know your subject area so well, the pantry, dispensary or armoury - whatever you wish to call ‘research'- is full to overflowing. Don't worry about competition from other authors; learn to compete against yourself, and never take no for an answer.

Cheers
